The "" depository did briefly have 69.0.007 versions that were compiled with QT5 (V5.15.5), probably by mistake, which work perfectly with Windows 7/8, but were quickly replaced with same named files compiled with QT6 (V6.3.1). Obviously, he doesn't care about the amount of users this move may affect or cost him. That's his perrogative.Įssentially, if you are a new or long time user of the program and don't want, need or can't update your OS, you're SOL as per the author. The reason he is using QT6 is because he can and wants to, there is no real programing or compatibility reason. The author of MKVToolnix again switched to using QT6 with v69.0.0 which rendered the program unusable with Windows 7, 8 and respective server version.
